Screening Requirements | Skaneateles School District

Vision, Hearing and Scoliosis Screenings:

New York State mandates that various health related screenings be performed by our nurses and completed in our schools each year.

Vision Screenings: Distance and near acuity for all new student and students in grades K, 1, 3, 5, 7 and 11. Color perception screenings are completed for all new students.
Hearing Screenings: Hearing screenings are completed for all new students and students in grades K, 1, 3, 5, 7 and 11.
Scoliosis: Scoliosis (spinal curvature) screening is completed for girls in grades 5 and 7, and boys in grade 9.
