We are fortunate to have Peter VanBuskirk, international college planning expert and former dean of admission come back to Skaneateles to conduct his "What's my story" workshop for juniors entering into the college admission process! Please see the details below and feel free to reach out to your counselor with any questions or concerns. Limited space available, so please register soon to reserve your spot. Quick Facts About “What’s My Story?”™
“What’s My Story?” is a hands-on, interactive workshop conducted by Best College Fit™ College Planning experts.Participants will engage in role-play activities, essay reviews, mock interviews, reflective and interactive exercises designed to produce practical strategies for revealing their stories.
At the conclusion of the workshop, each participant will be prepared to complete the college application process. S/he will:
•  Develop an action plan for telling his/her story
•  Identify his/her “hooks” and find opportunities to reveal them
•  Establish an overall theme for his/her applications
•  Develop concepts for “lead” essays (direct feedback, if desired, is available on the draft of a
   college essay on the day of the workshop)
•  Discover how to get the most from letters of recommendation
•  Learn to relax and convey important messages in personal interviews
Workshops Details:
•  For juniors/rising high school seniors (students only)
•  Limited to 24 participants; first-come, first-served
•  Four hours in length, including breaks
•  Snacks and beverages will be provided at each workshop
•  Students should bring pen/pencil, and notebook (laptop for note-taking optional)
Registration/Fees:
•  $250 for the four-hour workshop

   registration form and send via postal mail
•  Registration forms must be accompanied by payment
•  Postmark determines the date of receipt for registrations sent via postal mail
•  Email confirmations will be sent in receipt of registration form and payment
•  Fees are non-refundable after the workshop has been declared “closed”
•  Checks that arrive after the workshop is filled will be returned
•  If a workshop is canceled all fees will be returned
