If your child is going to be absent from school or late for any reason, please contact the Health Office in your child's school immediately.
For the Middle and High School, please contact the main office if your child is going to be absent or late.
All absences and late arrivals also require a written excuse from a parent or guardian per New York State Education Law.  Written excuse notes can be supplied on the day that your child returns to school.

Physical Education excuses:  All students with an illness or injury who needs to be excused from PE must have a note from their parent or attending physician explaining the issue.  Parents may excuse a child from physical education for no more than two consecutive classes.  A letter from a physician's office is required to extend absences from physical education classes.
If a physician's note excuses a student from physical education then a subsequent note from the physician is required to release the student to participate in the class thereafter.

Per Skaneateles Central School District policy:  If a student has a cast, splint or crutches they may not participate in physical education or recess (if applicable) and must provide the health office with a letter from the attending physician explaining participation restrictions as well as participation inclusion upon resolution of the injury.
