Updated Guidance from Onondaga County Health Department- January 13, 2022
1/13/2022
Dear Skaneateles family,
Yesterday the Onondaga County Health department updated rules and regulations with regard to isolation and quarantine orders in schools. Below are 2 important links that describe these changes and include a flowchart to help families and schools determine the appropriate course of action in a variety of different circumstances.

Flowchart: http://www.ongov.net/health/documents/IandQFlowchart.pdf
Note:
The latest guidance allows fully vaccinated individuals (students, teachers, and staff), who have been exposed to an individual with COVID-19 to continue to attend or work at school regardless of booster status. They must remain in quarantine outside of school. Continued attendance applies only to participation in classroom activities and taking the bus to and from school (no extracurricular/after-school activities). In addition, the Onondaga County Health Department informed us that they will no longer conduct contact tracing.
Vaccination Definitions for Quarantine Determinations:
Fully Vaccinated: You are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after your second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two weeks after a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, and you are not yet eligible for a booster.
Fully Vaccinated/ Boosted: You are fully vaccinated as defined above, and two weeks have passed since you received the booster dose.
***Not Fully Vaccinated/ Unvaccinated will be required to quarantine.
Thank you for your patience as the rules and regulations handed down from State and County Health Departments constantly change. We will continue to make our entire school community aware of any additional substantial changes as they arise.
Stronger together,
Eric Knuth
Superintendent of Schools
