Budget Vote Ballot Count Moved to June 16th

June 8, 2020

Dear SCSD Families,

I wanted to share the recent update on the adjustment to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order for the upcoming Budget Vote and School Board Elections.  The deadline to receive mail-in ballots has now been moved to June 16, 2020.

On June 7th, 2020, Governor Cuomo modified his Executive Order extending the time that ballots will be accepted by US mail.  Ballots will now be accepted by US mail until 5:00 pm on June 16th

However, all walk-in ballots, need to be walked in and delivered to the District Office by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020. Per the Governor’s Executive Order, the district is not allowed to accept any walk-in ballots after June 9th, but may accept mailed-in ballots until 5:00 pm June 16th.

Thank you for your patience during the changes put forth by the Governor.  Please be assured that we are following all guidelines, securing all ballots received behind a double locked area, and that only Board approved vote inspectors will be counting the ballots, and that counting of ballots will not begin until 5:00 pm on June 16th, 2020.

The vote will be closed at 5:00 pm Tuesday, June 9th, 2020.  Official voting will end at this time.  The extension to June 16th is only to receive ballots by mail that haven’t been received before that time. No new ballots will be distributed after 5:00 pm tomorrow.

As additional information is received from the Governor’s office, we will communicate it to you as soon as possible. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Respectfully,
Dr. Jeffrey Bryant, Interim Superintendent of Schools
