State Street Students Working with Artist Sharon Bottle Souva

SKANEATELES, NY (December 10, 2018) – State Street Intermediate School’s fourth grade students are working with visiting artist, Sharon Bottle Souva, thanks to a grant from the Skaneateles Education Foundation.

“Sharon created fabric handworks and is coming in as a professional artist to share her talents and knowledge about the history of quilt making,” said Skaneateles Central Schools Elementary Art teacher, Sue Barry.

Fourth grade students will create their own quilt block, which will be displayed together, then taken down individually and taken home.

Souva has been quilt making since 1976, with her work being shown in numerous private collections, museums and galleries around the country.
