SHS Drama to Present "Big Fish" March 1-4;Friday Performance Postponed

The Friday evening performance of "Big Fish" has been postponed to Saturday at 2 p.m. due to weather.  All tickets purchased for Friday evening will be honored at the Saturday Matinee as 'Reserved' and at the Saturday Evening & Sunday Matinee as 'General admission'.

SKANEATELES, NY (February 26, 2018) – The Skaneateles High School Drama Program will present “Big Fish”, the musical, March 1-4 in the Skaneateles High School auditorium.

“Big Fish” is based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace, and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton.

Wallace will be a guest of the Skaneateles Central School District March 1-2 with support of the Skaneateles Education Foundation, the Skaneateles Music Guild and the High School PTC.  Part of Wallace’s visit will include a community meet and greet in the Skaneateles High School Library on Friday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m., co-sponsored by the Skaneateles Library.

The meet and greet will continue until show time for the musical at 7:30 p.m.

“Big Fish” tells the larger-than-life tale of Edward Bloom, a man who leads an extraordinary life—according to the stories, he tells his son, Will. However, Will, who is getting married and expecting a child of his own, does not think there is any truth to the extravagant tales his father tells about meeting witches and Giants, kissing mermaids or joining the circus.

He does not even believe the story of how his father proposed to his mother, Sandra, in a field full of daffodils.

When Edward’s health begins to decline, Will visits his father and tries one last time to find out the truth behind the tall tales.

On this intimate journey of discovery, Will, and the audience, become joyful participants in the glorious odyssey and celebration that was Edward Bloom's life.

To purchase reserved tickets, visit www.showtix4u.com.  General admission tickets will be available at the door for each performance.

The musical will take place Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.

Adult admission is $12 with kids 12 and under just $10.
