Welcome Back!

What a beautiful summer we have had!  It’s hard to believe that summer is quickly coming to an end.  We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Wednesday, September 7^th.  I would like to pass along some helpful points of information:
           
RENOVATIONS to our classrooms, corridors and common areas are still ongoing and students may see some unfinished concrete floors and ceilings upon returning to school.  This will not affect the functionality or safety of those spaces.
 
SCHOOL SUPPLIES were posted on our website in mid-July.  We hope this has allowed you to get a jump on purchasing supply items.
 
SCHEDULES will be mailed out on Thursday, September 1^st and will include homeroom and locker assignments.  You will also be able to access your son or daughter’s schedule through your School Tool account starting on Friday, September 2^nd (email computersupport@skanschools.org if you need assistance).  Freshman students will receive their schedules at Freshman Orientation on Monday, August 29th.  If you are unable to attend, please contact the school to have your child’s schedule mailed home.
 
LOCKERS – Because the high school will still be under renovations right up until school starts, many of the corridors where lockers are located have been blocked off.  Students may come into school as early as 7:25am on the first day of school if they need extra time setting up their lockers.  Homeroom starts at 7:52am.   
 
SCHOOL MESSENGER is our new service for keeping you informed of the latest school news.  This service sends messages via email and phone for all building level and district-wide information including snow days, weekly email blasts, calendar events, etc.  The contact information used comes directly from School Tool, so please make sure your census information is accurate.  You should have already received a message regarding schedules on August 16^th.  A quick and convenient smart phone app will be released very soon for iPhone and android platforms.
 
CHANGE OF ADDRESS/PHONE – Please notify Kathy Sparrow at 291-2205, at the District Office, of any changes to your address, email and phone numbers in order to update our records so you receive all necessary mailings, School Messenger notifications and phone calls.
 
PUBLICATION OF STUDENT PICTURES/WORK – Please inform us in writing if you DO NOT want your child’s picture or schoolwork to be used in newspaper articles, video, and/or District publications, including our District’s website.
