Discover The Laker Sound
It is the Mission of the Skaneateles Music Department to bring a wide-variety of music making experiences to our students. We inspire a love of music making through singing, playing, performing, moving, and creating. It is our goal to serve the school and outside community through this art form. From Elementary through High School students participate in General Music, Band, Orchestra, Chorus, and Drama. Once students get to High School they also have the opportunity to be apart of our growing Music Theory and Music Technology programs.Outside of the school day students many also participate in our extra-curricular choices such as Jazz Band, Select Choir, Madgridal Choir, Pit Orchestra,Tri- M (Music Honors Society) and other student ran ensembles.
Students at Skaneateles not only excell academically, but musically speaking they represent our school in honor groups through-out the state and have participated in music festivals throughout the Country. Our students strive to share their talents to the community at large and extend beyond the classroom. By participating in such groups we are helping to promote life-long learning, participation, and supporting of the arts.
