Second Graders Explore Habitats of the World

SKANEATELES, NY (April 25, 2019) – Second grade students at Waterman Primary School had the opportunity to explore different habitats of the world on Thursday morning, as each second-grade classroom was transformed from desks and chairs into trees, rivers, deserts and waterfalls.

The classrooms of Jane O’Brien, Anthony Pignatti, Kim Ward and Joanne Williams were masterfully turned into desert, pond, rainforest and woodland forest habitats, providing students a chance to experience, explore and learn about each in a truly interactive manner.

Students from each class worked on presenting their own classroom habitat, before then parading the halls to each of the other classrooms to learn about those specific habitats.

Running for more than an hour, the Waterman Primary School Habitat Parade was a tremendous success with props provided by the Baltimore Woods Nature Center.

Certain habitats also included live exhibits such as lizards and even a chinchilla.
