State Street Fourth Grade Participates in "I Love Math" Day

State Street fourth graders took part in the "I Love Math" celebration yesterday afternoon to help build a positive math community through problem solving.
Teams collaborated to solve three low floor, high ceiling problems. A low floor, high ceiling problem is accessible to all students, but can also? be extended to high levels of learning. The goals of the program are to create persistent problem solvers and develop and encourage a love of math.
Students spent 20-minue sessions in three stations:
Station 1: YouCubed My Heart
Station 2: Pattern Block Hearts
Station 3: Fibonacci Valentines
Everyone then gathered back together in the Math Lab for a closing summary presentation.
