Dear Band Parent:
Thank you for encouraging your child to participate in Middle School Band. This letter provides a brief overview of the band program.
Students participating in Middle School Band rehearse every other day for 40 minutes (6th grade band on "A" days and 7/8 band on "B" days). In addition, students receive one 40 minute small group lesson per week scheduled on a rotating basis (they miss a class on average of once every seven weeks). Band students should be practicing their instrument on a regular basis. Twenty to thirty minutes a day, five days a week is recommended.
