ChromeBook Pick Up Friday 9:00-1:00

Dear SCSD Families,

Please read the information below regarding the distribution of technology in our district.

Beginning tomorrow from 9:00 - 1:00 pm, Chromebooks will be available for students in grades 3-12.  If you have a laptop, iPad, or Chromebook at home already, where your child can access the internet, you may not need to pick up a Chromebook from your child's school. We will have a Chromebook available for every student who needs one, but we ask that if you have enough technology at home, to not pick up an extra device. 

Parents or students (grades 6-12) will need to fill out a form tomorrow before the Chromebook is released. Pick up will be OUTSIDE of the school building. If you have a child in multiple buildings, you will need to pick up the Chromebook at each school. Staff will be waiting outside the buildings, taking the necessary safety precautions of gloves and safe distance, and will distribute Chromebooks there.  If it is raining and your child is walking to pick up the Chromebook, please ensure they have a bag to protect the device, or they will not be allowed to bring it home. 

State Street: 9 am - 1 pm Pick Up at the back of the school, by the baseball field.

Middle School 9 am - 1 pm Pick Up at the MS Main entrance

High School 9 am - 1 pm Pick Up at the HS Main entrance

If you are not able to pick up during this time, please contact your building principal.

Internet Access

For families who do not have internet access at home, please call the district office so that we can work on securing internet access with you.  Please call Karen Dunphy at 315-291-2221 or send an email to kdunphy@skanschools.org as soon as possible.

Next Week

We will add additional hours for pick up next week.  However, with the possibility of total school closures, we wanted to begin the process of distributing Chromebooks as soon as possible.

Teachers and Principals will be in touch with you early next week with additional information and next steps.
