SHS Students Experience Visual & Performing Arts in NYC

SKANEATELES, NY (October 15, 2018) – For the fourth year, Skaneateles High School students traveled to New York City for a one of a kind experience in visual and performing arts.

From October 5-7, Skaneateles High School teachers Jessica Sawchuk, Aisha McConochy, Lauren Wiese and Kate Webster guided students in grades 10-12 through the Big Apple to a host of different venues.

The group visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art, saw Wicked on Broadway, watched students films at the AMC Theater in Times Square and spent time at the 9/11 museum.

“This trip is meant to inspire students by experiencing the visual and performing arts in a multitude of ways and to see, first hand, the diversity, history and beauty of New York City,” said Sawchuk.  “There is so much to explore and so much to learn about.”

The high school’s trip to New York City will be offered every other year in the future, with the trip next being offered in 2020.
