Homecoming Pep Rally Promotes School Spirit, Celebrates New School Year

SKANEATELES, NY (September 26, 2018) – Skaneateles High School held its fall Pep Rally on Friday afternoon ahead of homecoming weekend with the entire student body celebrating in the high school’s gymnasium.

The celebration started with Spirit Week leading up to the Pep Rally as students wore different outfits through the week to show school spirit.

On Friday, each class participated in a series of activities including the class cheer competition, tug of war, relay races, the class mural competition, pie eating and dodge ball.

The class mural competition was a special new addition, as each class painted a mural based on the phrase, “I Forgot My Umbrella,” with the winning team earning the right to paint their mural inside the high school.

The senior class would not only win the class mural competition, but they would also go on to score the most points overall to become Spirit Week champions.

As champions, the seniors earn a pizza party from the Student Government Association.

A great afternoon was had by all students, faculty and staff, with the intention to continue this fall tradition for many years to come on Homecoming Weekend.
