NAHS, Tri-M Inducts New Members at SHS

SKANEATELES, NY (May 25, 2018) – Several new members were inducted into Skaneateles High School’s National Art Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society programs during a ceremony held Wednesday, May 23 in the Skaneateles High School library.

A full listing of new members and other honorees is below.

Wednesday’s ceremony was the first time that Tri-M and NAHS celebrated together.

The evening’s program recognized students for their hard work in both music and the visual arts in conjunction with special musical performances by Maureen VanVechten, Daniel Kringer, Mary Teixeira and Meghan Wilmot.

Following the ceremony friends and family enjoyed food and refreshments while viewing artwork from the National Art Honor Society.

The National Art Honor Society recognizes the commitment of students to make art and creativity part of their lives.  NAHS is in its fourth year and has grown since it was first formed thanks to the hard work of the officers graduating this year.

Seniors members of NAHS include Jack Carlson, Misa Grasso, Brady Iles, Ava Prochna, Mary Teixeira, Lily Datz, Lawrence Gray, Zoe Osborne and Madie Rhoad.

In order to be inducted into the National Art Honor Society students must complete 5-10 hours of art related community service, participate in four art related activities such as attending the NYC trip or art galleries, attend all meetings, and maintain their cumulative average 80 or above.  Art classes must be 90 or above, although students
