SCS Students Earn Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

SKANEATELES, NY (March 19, 2018) – The Skaneateles Central School District is proud to announce that three SCS students have earned national recognition in the 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Rachael Fenney, Brianna Luce and Olivia Walker each won medals as a part of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for their respective pieces.

Walker received a gold medal for her charcoal drawing, Fenney was awarded a silver medal for her photograph titled “Rights”, and Luce won a silver medal for her photograph titled “Crafty Dancer.”

All three students were identified by panels of creative professionals as some of the most talented young artists in the nation.

This year, nearly 350,000 works of art were submitted into the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards with less than 1% being recognized at the national level.

As a gold medal winner, Walker will attend a ceremony at the world famous Carnegie Hall this coming June.
