The Middle School, with approximately 450 students, covers grades 6-8. There are 45 staff members that educate our students. We are a true middle school that believes in the following: a.) a curriculum that is challenging, integrative and exploratory b.) varied teaching and learning approaches c.) assessment and evaluation that promote learning d.) flexible organizational structures e.) program and policies that foster health, wellness and safety f.) comprehensive guidance and support services
We are organized by teams, and that team effort carries through our middle school. Students, teachers, parents and administrators work together to give our students the best opportunity to achieve their goals.
Middle School Mission Statement
The mission statement of the Skaneateles Middle School is to make the transition from childhood to adolescence a positive experience within a safe environment. Opportunities are provided for exploring and applying learning to develop a strong knowledge base where responsibility, respect, integrity, teamwork and work ethic are valued. In turn, students will demonstrate respect for themselves, others and their school, community and world environment. The development of these qualities is shared by the staff, students, parents and community. |
