There is  wealth of information provided by on-line resources to assist both students and parents in the college search and application process. While these tools are useful, please remember that your Guidance Counselor is available to guide you in the selection of schools that will be a good fit!  Some of the most helpful guides we have found are:

 

www.discovercolleges.com - provides a FREE private college information service

 

www.princetonreview.com - a comprehensive guide that includes an option to explore over 1,500 colleges, ranking the top institutions based on an annual student survey.  It also provides practice tests and assessments including AP, SAT, and ACT.  Scholarship and information on financing your child’s education is also available at this site.

 

www.petersons.com - Peterson’s  Education Center gives you resources and profiles on many colleges and universities.

 

www.collegeboard.com  - In addition to testing information (SAT I, SAT II, and AP) this site also includes college information.

 

www.guidancedirect.com - This interactive on-line college and career planning resource allows students to research colleges and scholarships that meet their needs and preferences; review detailed profiles on thousands of colleges and scholarships; take a validated career interest assessment and research hundreds of careers that match their interests.  Your family can access this tool from home using our School ID: 5168156 and Password: S74S5131.

 

Campus Tourswww.ecampustours.com - Take an interactive virtual tour of over 1,000 different schools nationwide.  Check out the career exploration section for possible career paths and related education tracks; access FREE scholarship search; and research student loans, college saving plans and the latest financial aid information!  A great site to begin the college search.
